Top Five Show Attractions

Hello everyone and welcome to another Muting and The Mouse! This week we will be introducing our Fab Five Friday category of posts. These are a fun way to enter into my all time favorite Disney lists. Disney shows are featured in this week’s fab five! Shows are usually in the form of attractions but can also be seen over dinner or stage shows at the Magic Kingdom. My post this week will specifically cover shows that are attractions. I mean, who does not like a good show? The music, the storyline, the talent of the performers, or the nostalgia of the show can all add to the fun Disney has to offer. No matter your age, they can get you singing, clapping, and even dancing throughout the whole show. From classics like Country Bear Jamboree to UP! A Great Bird Adventure, they have education, songs, and nostalgia for all to enjoy. Disney’s shows even can even have you join in on the fun! Some of my picks in my top five have just that. It can involve the whole family and that is the magic of Disney. There are no right or wrong answers and please feel free to drop your “Fab Five” down in the comments below. Without further ado, from my perspective, let’s enter into five of the best show attractions Disney has to offer!

5. Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress

“There’s a great big beautiful tomorrow, shining at the end of everyday”. The song is a classic for all who hear it. It gives you the hope and the joy of what tomorrow can bring. In this Walt Disney original, we travel through time. Now, I will admit this one might be a little outdated, but the nostalgia and the history behind it is what puts it in my top five. You meet some iconic characters, and learn what life was like since the turn of the century in the 1900s. As you enter into the theater and are welcomed to the show, the next thing you hear is that catchy song and the theater then starts to move. Yes, the theater rotates from scene to scene as you see all the new inventions and advancement in the world. As mentioned, you start in the 1900’s and make your way through the 1940’s. After that, you enter into what the vision of the 21st century was thought to be. It is fun to look back, and see how far we have come with each new day on this Earth. Whether you enter for a relaxing break from the heat, or you seek the show out, just remember, “There’s a great, big, beautiful tomorrow, And tomorrow is just a dream away”.

4. Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor

Who says monsters have to be scary? In the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor these guys are after your laughter to power the city of Monstropolis. Contrary to what we learned in the movies, screams do not power the city as efficiently as they thought. Laughter is twice as powerful as screams thanks to the discovery by Mike Wizowski. The kicker in the show, is you enter the monster world instead of the monsters entering the human world. You walk through the door and into Monsters, Inc. As you enter the hall, the pre show sets the stage for the show you are about to see. It even adds an interactive piece to send in your own jokes which could be featured. But that is not all of the audience interaction this show features. As soon as you get inside, you see the canisters that capture the laughs and a huge screen. On the side you see another screen and this is where the guests are featured during the show. This aspect is what puts Monsters Inc, Laugh Floor in my top five. Just remember to laugh at “that guy” or Roz might forget to open the exit doors.

3. Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular!

Why did it have to be snakes? Don’t worry, there are no snakes. Indiana Jones is thankful as is the rest of the audience. This show is in my top three for one major reason. You are on the movie set, seeing all the effects they use to bring the scene to life. You get to see how they piece together the stunt doubles and the stars of the show. From the moment the show starts, you are in awe as you see one of the most iconic scenes in an Indiana Jones movie play out before your eyes. From there, you have the chance as an audience to get involved. The show looks for extras to help film another scene from Indiana Jones. The director chooses some guests from the crowd, and before long, they find themselves doing things you would see in the movies. The extras from the crowd are right in the middle of the action of explosions, battles, and stunts. The best part of the show is you are on the edge of the seat the entire show. Gasps fill the air around you as each stunt is performed to perfection and you see how they achieve the scenes from Indiana Jones.

2. Finding Nemo-The Musical

Let’s go explore the big blue sea! Our runner up in the Fab Five Disney Attraction Shows brings us to a favorite Pixar Film. Finding Nemo The Musical is fun for the whole family. This show puts you right in the middle of a Broadway production. Everyone’s favorite clown fish goes on his way to school, and well, you know the rest of the story. Played out by marvelous puppeteers, the fish we all have come to love, come to life. It introduces some new songs and elements to the story line as well. The song Big Blue World, is a wonderful addition and is very moving when the performers fill the theater. The broadway caliber cast is why this one comes in at number two. All of the performers are super talented. Between the singing and moving around with the characters, the choreography is amazing. It took me a while to actually see this one, but once I did, it became a favorite. The storyline and how it is performed in the Broadway caliber musical, is beautiful!

1. The Festival of The Lion King

Welcome, we have been expecting you! Finally, we have made it to my number one favorite show at Disney World. This is a simple but extremely talented show made up of singers, dancers, tumblers, and our favorite Lion King Characters. First, you meet the singers of the show and they teach you what their names mean in Swahili. This is a super cool education aspect you can only find here at Disney. After that, once again the crowd can get involved as they introduce you to the animal section you are sitting in. The crowd involvement is both funny and cute as they teach you how to act like animals to greet Simba and the gang. From there, you enter the singing and dancing with Timon and the tribal singers. The show is sure to have you on your feet by the end of the performance. The talent in this show while telling the story of the Lion King has you left in awe. Festival of the Lion King comes in at number one because to me, it encompasses everything. The show has everything you could want, from Broadway talent, excellent dancers, crowd engagement, talented gymnasts, and a fire throwing extravaganza. All of this combined with Simba and his friends is why you cannot miss this show!
