Hello and welcome to another week of Muting and The Mouse! Who doesn’t like food? When you are on vacation, it seems that no matter how hard you try, food is a focal point. Disney has a lot to offer from snacks on the go, to sit down restaurants, to quick service dining and everything in between. There is no right or wrong answer when it comes to deciding as there is so much Disney has to offer. It can be tough to decide if you should go to a sit down restaurant, eat on the go, or grab food at the quick service stands. The best part is, all dining experiences cover almost any genre of food you can think of, and that is what makes the dining options at Disney amazing. You can even just open the park map on the My Disney Experience App and filter it by food. This is super helpful to find exactly what food you are looking for. But how do you even choose which spot is best for you? Well we hope to provide you with some options in this edition of Fab Five. We will be counting down the fab five for quick service dining. Each park has many to offer and they are all unique to the land you find them in. The theme in each restaurant really takes you into the story and adds to the dining experience. Feel free to comment on your favorite quick service restaurants inside the different parks at Disney. Without further ado, let’s dive into some food!
5. Yak and Yeti Local Food Cafes

Coming in as number five on the list is found at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Located right in the center of Asia, you stroll up to Yak and Yeti restaurant. Next door, is our first quick service to make the Fab Five list of mine. Simply titled after its mother restaurant, Yak and Yeti Local Food Cafes has a lot to offer. They serve breakfast and lunch/dinner. We have dined for both. For breakfast, they serve breakfast bowls, sandwiches, english muffins, hash brown bites, and fruit bowls. The breakfast here is good because they have many sauces you can add to give your breakfast bites some more flavor. The hash brown bites here were my favorite, especially when dipped in some of the sauces. For lunch and dinner, they serve egg rolls, fried rice, honey chicken, sweet and sour shrimp, teriyaki chicken salads, and cheeseburgers for the kids. The food for lunch and dinner is different from other foods served in the park. That is why it lands on the top five list, good asian food right at your fingertips. Make sure to get the egg rolls and dip them in the sauce. Whether it is on the run or part of your sit down lunch, you cannot go wrong!
4. La Cantina de San Angel

Next, we head to Epcot for our next quick service. Here we find ourselves in the Mexico Pavilion right on the water. Across the way from the main pavilion is where La Cantina de San Angel is located. A nice location and themed area on the water adds to this being on the list. They serve tacos, nachos, chicken, empanadas, guacamole, churros and even chicken tenders for the kids. They offer something to satisfy the quick munchies or allow for a sit down meal for all in your party, which makes this a slam dunk. My favorite item here is the nachos. I know, how can nachos be so good? Well, for me, these nachos just hit the spot. I think the atmosphere around you adds to the experience which is what dining is about. You find yourself on the water, dancing to the music, chowing down on nachos, and sipping a margarita (if you are of age). This quick service stand is not going to provide a challenge, as everyone can enjoy the classic mexican cuisine.
3. Woody’s Lunch Box

As we continue our fab five this week, we land in Andy’s backyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You shrink down to toy size and all of a sudden, after play time, you find yourself hungry. Head over to Woody’s Lunch Box for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Here they serve breakfast bowls, pastries, and unique breakfast sandwiches. Not sure who thought of making s’mores french toast into a sandwich, but thanks Woody, it is delicious. From there they serve smoked turkey sandwiches, brisket grilled cheese, regular grilled cheese, soups, and even potato barrels (which are tater tots). The food here is great and it is easy to find something to eat for adults and kids alike. The brisket grilled cheese is big and could easily be shared by two adults for a lighter lunch. They also offer some pretty cool drinks. The “Grown Ups Lemonade” is a very good adult beverage on a hot day. Make sure you get that if you are of age because it is my favorite drink item you can get at Woody’s Lunch Box.
2. Satuli Canteen
Number two on the fab five quick service list is found in Animal Kingdom: Satuli Canteen in Pandora: The World of Avatar. This quick service location has some of the best theming in the line and dining area. It really makes you feel like you are in the middle of the stunning land even while getting some food. They serve some unique bowls that you get to choose what you want. You choose the meat, the sauce, and the base as well. They also offer cheeseburger pods. The bao bun is filled with cheeseburger toppings and served with kettle chips. The perfect non-messy cheeseburger that can be enjoyed by kids and by adults for lunch or dinner. The unique bowls are not for everyone, so the cheeseburger pods are a nice option for those not willing to get the combination bowls. This quick service stand is very well known for the allergy section of the menu. If you are on the app or Disney’s website, they list all the information for you to follow. This unique feature is why it ends up at number two on our list.
1. Flame Tree Barbecue

The moment we have all been waiting for: my number one on the fab five for quick service dining locations. At Animal Kingdom is where we find Flame Tree Barbecue. This is just off the main path in Discovery Island at the park. You can smell the barbecue as you approach it and in my opinion, it is some of the best barbecue I have had. Serving ribs, chicken, pulled pork, salads, and macaroni and cheese the stand has much to offer for all ages. They have kids options of hot dogs and a chicken drumstick in case they do not like barbecue foods. The stand also has some good plant based and allergy friendly options so there is something for everyone. My favorite here is the chicken and rib combo platter. The platter comes with baked beans and coleslaw and is a good amount of food. They also have a couple of different barbecue sauces to try but the rub on the food is good enough to eat alone. I suggest getting the sauce and trying it in every combination possible. There is a lot of seating around this area, so do not worry, you can sit back and enjoy.
