EPCOT FESTIVAL OF THE HOLIDAY’S COOKIE STROLL-2019

Welcome back for another edition of Muting and the Mouse. Hope everyone had a happy and safe Thanksgiving. We took the week to savor all the traditions of the holiday. After a week off to enjoy time with family, we come back and find ourselves in the middle of the holiday season. Disney is beautiful around the holidays. From the decorations, to the background music, it just hits differently. Abby and I got engaged at Disney during the holiday season, so maybe I am just biased, but the parks have that extra magical holiday touch. One thing specifically that Disney offers around the holidays is found at Epcot. It is called the Epcot Festival of the Holiday’s. They offer food booths, music, merchandise, and the stunning Candlelight Processional. This is a much smaller festival compared to the Food and Wine Festival and Flower and Garden Festival, but offers a lot of fun for all ages. This post we specifically will touch on the Cookie Stroll. On this journey through The World Showcase, you stop at various booths to try all the cookies. Featuring 5 stops on the route, it gives you such a variety. If you get all 5 cookies, you can get a complimentary cookie at the completion. That brings your cookie total to 6 on the entire stroll through Epcot’s Festival of the Holidays. This stroll is super fun because you have a passport that you get for the stroll. At each booth, you get the cookie and have the cast member stamp your passport so you can get your complimentary cookie at the end. So let us dive into a virtual cookie stroll to let you know the stops and what cookies they have to offer. This list is from 2019 but the cookies remain the same with the change of the complimentary cookie for this year.

The cookie stroll includes 5 stops, those stops being found below with the type of cookie found at each booth.

  1. Bavaria Holiday Kitchen at the Germany Pavilion—Linzer Cookie
  2. American Holiday Table at the America Pavilion—Chocolate Crinkle Cookie
  3. Yukon Holiday Kitchen at the Canada Pavilion—Peppermint Pinwheel Cookie
  4. Festival Favorites at the World Showplace.—Gingerbread Cookie
  5. L’Chaim Holiday Kitchen between the Morocco and France Pavilions–Black-and-White Cookie
  6.  Holiday Sweets and Treats–Complimentary Mickey Santa Sugar Cookie

Each one is unique and they are all delicious. We split each cookie because we thought it would be way too many sweets. We were satisfied with that after the stroll. My tidbit is split the cookies so you can eat and enjoy all of them. It can be done by yourself but I would suggest breaking it up throughout the day to save yourself from a sugar overload! Now, in case you didn’t want to do the stroll, you can buy each one of these cookies by themselves. The costs are not that bad coming in between $2.50 to $3. Let’s start munching on some cookies below in a short review and pictures. You can do the stroll in whatever order you want, which is what makes this fun. We will go in order of the list above for ease of flow.

1. LINZER COOKIE

First up on our list is the Linzer Cookie. Found at the Bavaria Holiday Kitchen in the Germany Pavilion, this cookie was delicious. This was one of my favorites on the stroll. It has a nice balance of sweetness and jam tartness you find in many fruit jam cookies. The cookie is filled with raspberry and covered with powdered sugar.

2. Chocolate Crinkle Cookie

Our second cookie is found at the America Pavilion. Head over to the American Holiday Table for the Chocolate Crinkle Cookie. The perfect balance of a cookie and a brownie all in one. The cookie has a distinct, fudgy middle that makes you swear you were eating a brownie. The cookie is topped with what seemed to be powdered sugar for an added bonus.

3. Peppermint Pinwheel Cookie

The next cookie found on our stroll did not disappoint. The Peppermint Pinwheel Cookie is a work of art. It can be found at the Yukon Holiday Kitchen in the Canada Pavilion.  Showing that classic pinwheel design and mixed with the taste of the peppermint makes it a classic. The cookie is a delicious take on the classic pinwheel cookie we all know and love.

4. Gingerbread Cookie

As we head into the home stretch of cookies, head over to Festival Favorites at the World Showplace. Here you will find the Gingerbread Cookie. A timeless classic, this one reminds you of decorating gingerbread. This cookie is cute and photogenic as you enjoy the classic taste of the holiday favorite. I mean, just look at that gingerbread face!

5. Black and White Cookie

Time to get our final cookie on the stroll before you cash in on your free cookie. This cookie can be found between Morocco and France. There you will find the L’Chaim Holiday Kitchen and the Black and White Cookie. This cookie is very soft and covered with black and white icing. A more cake-like cookie with the icing, this one is different from most on the list. It was a nice change of pace.

6. Santa Mickey Sugar Cookie

We did it! Finally time to make it over to Holiday Sweets and Treats found in the World Showcase Promenade. Show them the passport of all the stamped cookies and you will get the photogenic Santa Mickey Sugar Cookie. This one is Instagram worthy and is a delicious sugar cookie topped with chocolate and sprinkles which makes it the ultimate prize!

That completes the stroll, and it might be time to head to some rides to work off all that sugar! What says holiday celebrations more than eating some cookies? We certainly enjoyed it and cannot wait to get back to try them again. This is good for all ages and provides yet another experience for everyone. So here is wishing you all a safe start to the holiday season.
