Welcome back my friends to another Muting and The Mouse. Let’s escape into the magic no matter how far we all might be. When you are at Disney, we have talked about how easy it is to be lost in the food. We will continue that theme as this week we talk about our top five dessert snacks you can get at Walt Disney World. The snacks are all around you and the smells can make you overwhelmed, but you cannot go wrong no matter what you choose. The resorts, the parks, and Disney Springs all have so many options. Whether you are there for the Mickey Premium Bar, a Dole Whip, or a huge ice cream treat, your sweet tooth will be satisfied. Without further ado, let’s count down our favorite snacks to munch on after dinner or even just as a snack on a fun day at the parks or resorts.
5. Dole Whip
Coming in at number five on the list is a Disney classic: The Pineapple Dole Whip. You can get the Dole Whip at Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and The Polynesian Resort. Dole Whips come in many different flavors these days but the classic Pineapple is what finds the list. The creamy, tart pineapple soft serve is just what hits the spot on a hot day in Florida. Now this one is either one you like or you don’t like, but we like the Disney classic: Dole Whip!
4. Churro
Next up on our list is another classic Disney Treat. Fried dough, tossed in cinnamon sugar, with a chocolate dipping sauce…what isn’t to like? The churro at Disney comes in at number four on top five. This Disney snack is available at all of the parks and let me tell you, it always hits the spot. The chocolate sauce is very good and the perfect side to dip the sugary dough. The dessert makes for a great Instagram Post which achieves that #basic Disney lifestyle. I mean, what is more nostalgic than walking down Main Street, USA with a churro in hand?
3. Mickey Chocolate Cookie
Third on our list is one that is personally one of my favorites. One trip I tried this item and now each time I am back, I get it. This is basically a chocolate chip cookie that is shaped like the mouse himself and then dipped in chocolate. The cookie is delicious and is a perfect blend of chocolate chips in the cookie. It is hard to go wrong with a giant chocolate chip cookie while you are taking a break from all of the action at the Magic Kingdom. You can get this treat at Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom.
2. Zebra Domes
Number two on the top five is Zebra Domes. These delectable treats can be found at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. The Zebra Domes consist of white cake, a dome of Kahlua, espresso flavored mousse, topped with a white chocolate ganache, and drizzled in a zebra-stripe pattern with dark chocolate. These are so delicious and a bit fancier of a treat. The flavors all go together really well and have you going back for more. They come in a four pack so you can eat them yourself or share them with a friend!
1. Rice Krispy Treat
Our number one treat is a simple classic. The Mickey shaped Rice Krispy Treat is the favorite here. This one comes in as my favorite because you can take them home. Every trip, Abby and I always seem to come home with 4 or 5 to bring that magic home with us. They have a bunch of different types and each is good. My all time favorite version is dipped in chocolate and covered in peanut butter chips. These make for really good photos and taste delicious as well. The Krispy Treat has the perfect amount of marshmallow and krispies and is always a must have.
That does it for our top five snacks at Disney. There are still so many left to try and some that didn’t quite make the top five. Don’t get me wrong, the ones that did not make the list are all very good. The treats at the festivals at Epcot are all so good and each could be on this list, but we would be here all day and have to make it a top 100 list to cover all they have to offer (no one has time for that). Some that were tough to cut but in the running are: School Bread from Norway, the chocolate dipped cannoli from Italy, the Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar and the Mickey shaped donut found at Magic Kingdom. Some other tough ones we left out are The Plaza Ice Cream, which has some of the best ice cream. If you are in Animal Kingdom be sure to stop and get the soft serve from the Anandapur Ice Cream truck. For me if it is shaped like Mickey, it tastes better. Disney Disney desserts are ever changing and always delicious. Their seasonal options always intrigue me and I cannot wait to sample some more. So drop a comment down below and let me know what I missed. Share your favorite Disney Dessert snacks and let’s get snacky as we escape into the magic, no matter how far.
