Top Five PhotoPass Locations

Welcome back my friends to Muting and The Mouse. I hope you have had a great week and have escaped into the magic at least once. The magic of Disney can show up in everyday life and that is why I started this blog. This week, I was looking at the numerous Disney photos I have and thought, man there are some great spots to take portraits with your family to make some memories. I mean as the song states “taking pictures is makin’ memories.” Disney provides a lot of picturesque spots in the parks, at the resorts, at Disney Springs, and even on the numerous golf courses they have on property. For me, there is not a bad spot to take a picture at Disney because I really do cherish the pictures that remind me of a very fun Disney trip. Growing up, we had many photo albums from our trips all filled with stories and that is so gratifying. The reason I enjoy this is because you can relive the vacation at any given moment. Now, I am not saying that the entire trip has to be viewed through a camera lens or your phone, let Disney PhotoPass take some of them for you! Make sure you do enjoy the vacation, after all you paid to have a great time. What I am saying is, make sure you do capture those moments to keep memories lasting a lifetime. Get those photos in front of the park icons. Get those photos meeting your favorite characters. Get those photos just because. The memories of the Disney trip in all of these categories mentioned can live on and hang in your home (like mine). The talking points of all things Disney lie within the photos if you ask me. So let’s dive into the post shall we. Here we will talk about Disney PhotoPass service and my favorite places they provide this amazing service all around the resort.

What is Disney PhotoPass?

This won’t take that long to explain. As defined by Disney on their website. “While you’re here to enjoy the magic together, we’re here to snap the photos you’ll treasure for a lifetime. You’ll find Disney PhotoPass Service throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. At select attractions and iconic park locations, we’re on hand to capture your unforgettable vacation moments with one-of-a-kind photo opportunities that only we can offer. Minutes later, your pictures are ready to view in your gallery-online or in the My Disney Experience App”. They are there to make sure you get those memories all across the park. Just look for the cast members that 1. have a white shirt, beige vest, and blue pants and 2. have the camera wrapped around their neck. They are there to help capture the magic moments and even add some magic with magic shots. They will take regular pictures and then take ones that add some extra Disney flair and magic. It does not end there. Some of the rides have this service too so be sure to look your best when you go 0-60 mph on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. The photographers are always around the main areas of the park to capture you in front of the icons but sometimes there are some that are off the beaten path, so be sure to ask around to find some of the best spots. I hope to give you some of my favorites in my top five PhotoPass locations around the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. These will be my favorite ones that are not on rides but around the parks and can give you some great decorations for a future or current home. Without further ado here are my top five PhotoPass locations!

5. Expedition Everest

Coming in at number five we head over to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. There are a lot of spots for good pictures here but for this one we head over to the mountain of Everest. If you keep waking past, eventually you come to a PhotoPass Cast Member who has a really nice view of Expedition Everest. This photo is one of my favorites because you can get the ride in the photo. If you time it right, a train will be going up the mountain. Not only is it a great view and perspective of the mountain, you have a really nice view of the water behind you and the bridge off in the distance adds the ambiance of the land. It is a different perspective of the ride and the photo comes out great!

4. Haunted Mansion Hitch Hiking Ghosts

Welcome foolish readers, to the number four favorite PhotoPass location: the Haunted Mansion. This one has a really fun magic shot that makes it jump into our top five. The Haunted Mansion is so well themed that the photo is fun all by itself. I mean, who does not like a picture outside of a haunted house? I mean people seek out haunted mansions so why not seek out this photo? The photo has the lawn of the mansion and the actual mansion. I am partial to the photo because it is my favorite ride. I just think the look of the mansion is so cool. This one has some really cool magic shots to be aware of. They have different ones for the different seasons and events but be sure to get the one photographed above. After all, “beware of hitchhiking ghosts”.

3.Galaxy’s Edge: Millennium Falcon

The quote goes “Chewie, I have a great feeling about this” right? In all seriousness, this next photo spot is one that left me speechless. The PhotoPass Cast Member here is easy to spot as they have multiple in the land. The whole land of Galaxy’s Edge is stunning but to not get a photo with the falcon would be a sin if you ask me. The photo is one that is sought out by so many. Why? Well that is simple, what Star Wars fan does not want a picture with the Millenium Falcon? This is one that will be fun for the whole family to take a picture with because the icon is so well known and simply put, iconic. This one does have a magic shot option, so be sure to ask for that. You never know who you might see added into the photo.

2.Animal Kingdom: Back Side of the Tree of Life

Coming in at number two we head back over to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. There are a lot of spots for good pictures here but for this one we head behind the Tree of Life. Tucked away down a side path, you see an umbrella and a PhotoPass Cast Member there waiting to make your picture magical. This one has a stunning view of the Tree of Life and is unique. You also capture the water and surrounding land around the tree which really makes it for a breathtaking photo that does not have a bunch of other guests in the background. That is what makes this one extra special. Now when we took pictures here, they did have a magic shot and that made the photo extra special! Take a look at both above!

1. Magic Kingdom Zoom In

Our number one comes in at the one and only Magic Kingdom Park. I mean okay, call me not original to put a picture with the castle at number one. However, this is not your typical castle shot. This one is magic, a typical photo, and a video all in one. How can you not think this would be my favorite? Located in the Hub area of the park, you see the PhotoPass Cast Member in the grassy area and you take the photo. They explain to look up at the top of the buildings and they count down. After that, when you go see the pictures, they are amazing. You see a panoramic view of the hub with you in it. It is your own “Where’s Waldo?” in real life, starring YOU! The magic shot here is that it zooms in and out on you and adds the video of you and the bigger view of the park. A simply stunning photo that tops my list!

Well that does it for our top five PhotoPass locations at the Disney Parks. Like I said, memories lie within the photos. So many stories rush into my head when reliving the moments above and I cannot wait to gain some more. What are your favorite PhotoPass spots? Did we miss any that you simply can’t miss? Let us know down in the comments and continue entering into the magic, no matter how far. I will see ya next time as I dive into the magic and share my Disney memories with you once again. Until then, I think I am going to go look through some more photos and remember the awesome trips that have been!
