Hello friends and welcome back to Muting and The Mouse. Here we love to escape into the magic, no matter how far. You know this by now, but let’s be honest, I escape into the magic almost every day. If you know me, you can tell that right out of the gate. Between my Disney shirts, home decor, and multiple trips documented on social media, there is no escaping the magic in the life of the Muting’s. That was the idea behind creating Muting and The Mouse. I wanted to share Disney with everyone. With that mindset, this week’s post will give you more insight into why I love Disney. Now, it might get a bit repetitive, but I think I need to go into some detail on some things I have mentioned in previous posts. Disney has been a part of my life ever since I can remember. I mean, from trips early on as a toddler, to trips in the teenage years (when Disney might not be as cool), to eventually my Disney engagement trip; you could say it is a focal point in my life. The trips have all been different over the years, but I think it helped me mold together the “never grow up” montra. This is going to lead me to the first reason why I love Disney.
1.No matter the age, you can be a kid
When you go into the Disney Parks or watch Disney Plus, you have the opportunity to be a child again. My favorite thing about going into the Disney Parks is no matter the age, you can have fun and forget the real world. When I go to Disney, I immerse myself into the Parks. After all, that is why Walt made Disneyland. He wanted families to become part of the magical worlds of his cartoons and films when they vacationed. This is exactly the point we should all love. No matter your age, it is okay to throw it all to the side and fly on Dumbo! It is okay to let go of all stress and dance in the streets to the music you hear. I have done both of these and let me tell you, it makes the vacation better. The rides are all fun for adults and kids alike. For me they are nostalgic too and they add so much joy to the trip. After the rides, you find yourself in awe as you walk up and meet Mickey Mouse. No matter your age, you cannot say you are not excited to meet Mickey. One more step, it is fun to meet your own childhood favorite characters in real life. Now, if you have some reservations to letting go and becoming a kid again, that leads me to my second reason I love Disney.
2.Fun for Adults is everywhere
When you are a bit older, Disney has some more ways to enjoy the magic. These can be found at the four parks, Disney Springs, the Disney Resorts, and even some of the golf courses they offer. First off, the parks do not just have kid rides, they have thrill rides as well. Roller coasters and simulator rides provide a little more fun than a classic dark ride through The Hundred Acre Woods. You find yourself in Pandora, Soarin’ Over The World, testing a Car, or coming face to face with yetis and the First Order in a blink of an eye. These rides are thrilling and immersive for those looking for a ride with more gusto. Outside of the rides, you can enjoy some bars and restaurants around the world in Epcot. This provides you with a cultural experience as well as a good time with friends. While at Disney Springs you can shop and enjoy some more food and drinks! The nightlife there has you feeling like you are just out and about with friends and a night away from all of the kids at the parks is nice. If you like to golf, Disney has you covered again. The activities for adults seem endless because you can do everything that kids do and MORE! Some of my recent trips have explored more of what Disney has to offer and I am thankful for that. It adds some extra flavor to the Disney trip.
3.The Food
Next, how can we talk about what we love at Disney and not talk about the food. If you are new to this blog, you don’t know that I have talked about Disney food often. If you are a frequent reader, you know that I do love my Disney food and restaurants. They have food for all ages and some are themed well for the Disney feel. The classic Mickey shaped treats are ones to put on Instagram and must trys. The variety is endless in Epcot. With multiple countries providing some of their best dishes, they will have you trying new things. Some restaurants are well themed and have you going inside just to see the decor. It does not stop there. If you have kids or just want to meet some characters, some restaurants even have opportunities to meet their favorites while you dine. Let’s be honest, when planning a vacation, it is hard not to at least think “wonder what we will eat that day?” It is human nature to plan some things to eat when going to Disney (ask any Disney enthusiast.)
4. Disney Transportation
When going down to Disney, it can be tricky and daunting on a first trip on how to get from place to place. Well, once again, Disney has it covered. Another reason I love Disney is how easy they make the transportation around the resort. No matter what resort you are staying at, there are multiple bus stops to get to the parks. They are all well labeled and they typically have Cast Members there to assist you with any questions. Getting from park to park or even back to the resort is quite easy. The only thing is they load up the busses quite a bit. The stops can get crowded but you don’t have to worry about how to get around- so that is the plus. If you are an adult and enjoy an adult beverage, you already know you have a safe way to get home. If you are staying at certain resorts, the transportation can include a Monorail, the Skyliner, boats, or even walking distance in addition to the busses. This is a nice perk for those staying at the resorts and all of the modes of transportation are fun to ride. If you are at the parks and want to explore more of the Disney property you can enjoy these methods of transportation around the resort. This is the fun because when else are you going to rely on someone else to transport you 24/7 in different ways.
5. The Ever Changing Technology and Nature of Disney
This might come across as controversial but this is something that I love. Disney was built on the idea that it would be adaptive and things would change. Frankly, over the years the parks have gone through a lot of changes and to me, that makes me happy. Recently the new technologies have provided us with some of the best rides I have ever been on. See Flight of Passage and Rise of the Resistance for some of the newest technology that immerses you into the ride. Areas are getting re-themed and making new experiences for guests that will provide a lot of memories. The parks have seen paper tickets go away for plastic tickets, to magic bands, to the technology of facial recognition coming to the parks. Now, all things aside, I think this is a cool way to trace tickets to individuals in a contactless way. With the current state of Covid in the world, it is crucial to have less touch points and this is one way to do it. The technology in the parks is amazing and continues on the rides in animatronics. The animatronics are stunning and some of them are so life like you are tricked. This is just the beginning and I am excited to see where the parks go from here.
So there you have it. These are my five reasons I love Disney (among many others). Disney is very much a part of my life. I have been to the parks often and am blessed to say each time has been better than the last. My memories live strong and the above are some of the reasons that make the memories last a lifetime. In the morning you can be a kid, at night you can enjoy adult beverages. You can enjoy a relaxing day at the spa or a day on the links. Enjoying food and drinks all throughout while engaging in state of the art technology will have you wanting to go back for more. These parks are there for all ages and it is apparent from the moment you step into the resorts and parks. What is your favorite thing about Disney? Why do you love it? Share in the comments below and as always, escape into the magic, no matter how far!
