Hiya there, friends and readers! Welcome back to another escape into the magic, no matter how far, through Muting and The Mouse. I hope the blog is continuing to have you escape into simpler times. I know writing and coming up with my Disney thoughts is some of my favorite parts of the week. This is an exciting post to come out with because in just 7 short days, I will finally be entering into the magic of Disney IN THE FLESH! Sorry for the caps folks, but for someone like me, this is something that has been missing. Don’t get me wrong, it is not like I NEED Disney in my life but at the same time, I do. Okay, now that I completely contradicted myself, it is time to let you know that I am finally heading back to Walt Disney World. This is a special trip and one that Abby and I are so excited for. A lot will be different, but we cannot be more excited. As I have talked about in previous posts, Disney is ever changing and that is part of the magic. Well, this trip will be so different and not necessarily because of the imagineering that goes on. This trip will be different as you can probably guess because of the pandemic. But honestly, there are still some reasons I am really excited for this trip. I know the magic of Disney will shine through and I cannot wait to live that magic out in person. In this blog post, I will give you some insight into things that I am really excited for on this trip (and trips in general). Each thing I am excited about on this upcoming trip can be applied to those who have been often, those returning for the first time in a long time, and those who have never been to Disney. That is why I want to let you into my Disney excitement. In my opinion, I have some good insight for all parties of Disney loving or vacationing people. I keep it real and I keep it personal at the same time, which can help people when looking to go to Disney. Plus, as an added bonus, this will give you more insight into myself and what I like or look forward to. So without further ado, here are some of the reasons I am excited for my upcoming trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth.
New Castle Colors and Decorations and Welcoming Signs
The castle at Walt Disney World has gone through a transformation. The Cinderella Castle has been painted with some new colors which are brighter and I cannot wait to see how they look in person. I will be honest, the new colors did not strike me as happy when I first saw them. I have seen them in pictures and videos and it has grown on me, so I cannot wait to make a first look in person and make my final decision. I have heard they look so much better in person, so we shall see. With that, the castle has also gotten some 50th Anniversary decorations added that I am excited to see. In addition to that, the welcoming signs to the property have gotten a makeover for the 50th with a new color scheme. The new signs have some royal blue and gold schemes that make it look even more magical. These are the little things that get me giddy for this trip.
EPCOT Spires and Construction Updates
Since the last time I was at Walt Disney World, EPCOT has gone through some major renovations. I am excited to see the new front of EPCOT. The Leave a Legacy walls have been taken down and moved to a new area with a new design. The new front features the EPCOT Spires that I cannot wait to see illuminated at night. These new features are small, but are the new, little things I am excited to see in the parks. The parks are always changing and EPCOT is very torn apart right now. With that, there is so much to be excited about and I cannot wait to see the updated construction and the park starting to take form.
EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival
EPCOT is known for its festivals. They get longer and longer each year but they all have something to offer. This will mark another one that I get to attend. I have never been to the Flower and Garden festival before so I am excited to see the flowers, the topiary displays, the butterfly garden, and try all of the amazing food the booths have to offer. I already have some food items highlighted and a couple of days dedicated to EPCOT to make sure I can try a lot of the options they have to offer. If you ask me, I am really most excited to enter into the beauty of the festival with all of the planters and topiary characters they offer.
May the Fourth Be With You
“Chewie, we’re home”- Han Solo. I am so so lucky to have been able to get a park pass reservation for Disney’s Hollywood Studios and get into Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge on May 4th! May the Fourth Be With You! This is a super exciting moment in time where we can enjoy Star Wars Magic on one of the quintessential Star Wars days. It will be fun to see the Falcon, run into the first order, hit up a glass of blue milk, and just enjoy all things Star Wars on a fun or pun of a day! This is another way the magic of Disney can add joy into a regular day and I am here for it.
One Last Ride on Magical Express
This upcoming trip is a sad but exciting moment for Abby and I. The Disney Magical Express is no longer going to be in service in 2022 and beyond. This bus service picked you up from the airport and dropped you off at your resort hotel. They even gathered your bags if you arrived during the hours they offered that service. It was a really nice feature that you did not have to worry about transportation to and from the parks and of course it had magical Disney twists during the ride. The bus service will be discontinued so it will be really exciting and sad to enjoy it one last time.
Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway
Another thing I am extremely excited for on this upcoming trip is a new ride. The new ride is located at Hollywood Studios and replaced the classic Great Movie Ride in the Chinese Theatre at the center of the park. The ride opened up right before Covid-19 and I am really excited to finally get a chance to ride the first ride that features Mickey and Minnie. The ride is fun for all ages and has trackless technology that I am really excited to see come to life. I think this is one of the things I am most looking forward to.
Staying at a New Disney Resort Hotel
The next thing I am excited about is staying at a new resort hotel on Disney Property. The hotel we are staying at is Disney’s Gran Destino Tower at Coronado Springs. This was a resort we have wanted to stay at for a while and since we are going on a special trip we decided to stay at this resort. The videos and pictures of the resort look stunning and I cannot wait to enter into the magic of the resort and view the beauty of the architecture.
Exploring Disney Resorts
Hand in hand with the above excitement, I am really thrilled that this trip provides some more time to explore the hotel amenities. The parks are not open as late and this provides time to head to some resorts and explore what they have to offer. We are going to be headed to Gran Destino Tower at Coronado Springs, The Riviera, and Caribbean Beach to see what they are all about. We will be checking out the resort grounds and even grabbing a drink. This is another way to do Disney in a different way and it has me stoked to explore.
Exploring Disney Resorts
Down to the last two reasons I am excited for this trip. We are going to be seeing some friends. Disney trips are really fun especially when you can plan with some friends. We have some best friends who will be there for part of the week and we are planning to enjoy some time with them. We have the first four days planned with them and it will be really exciting to see them and experience some of the new things together. I cannot wait to make more memories with our friends and enjoy some of the Disney magic with them.
Honeymoon and Anniversary
During this trip, we will be celebrating our one year wedding anniversary and a sort of honeymoon. We had our wedding reception and honeymoon cancelled last year due to the pandemic, so this a way to finally celebrate together as husband and wife. We will be having our wedding reception in the fall and will hopefully be able to go on another little honeymoon after that as well, but for now we are ready to celebrate! This trip will be extra magical and I am excited to go to Disney for the first time as husband and wife to celebrate being married to my best friend.
As you can tell, I am really excited for this trip. All of the reasons above are personal ways I get excited for trips to see the Mouse. The trip coming up will be a blast and different than many and that is why I am most excited. This trip will be like no trip I have taken before. This is what excites me and this is how I escape into the magic. What do you get excited for before Disney trips? Is there anything right now you could not wait to see? Let us know in the comments below. Make sure you stay in tune with our Instagram as we will provide some stories from our trip. Until next time friends, escape into the magic, no matter how far!
