Welcome back readers to another week of Muting and The Mouse. We continue to escape into the magic, no matter how far with another exciting post from our recent trip. There is one thing that is certain at Disney, there is no lack of gift shops. That is part of the fun of a Disney trip if you ask me. The shopping can be fun and it is always exciting to see the newest merchandise offerings in each shop. No matter where you are at Disney, the merchandise can be themed. One of the most fun parts is shopping in Epcot, where you can literally shop around the world! We did hop in a good amount of stores there and it was fun to see the different cultures in the merchandise and how Disney was implemented in it. For me, the worst part of shopping at Disney is the last day you are there. I just tend to want to buy all of the things. When we shop at Disney, we like to get things we will use or decorate for the most part, but you always end up buying more and more things. This trip we had in May was a blast and we really had a fun time deciding on what to buy. Some things were practical and some things were things we just had to have. This one will be pretty a pretty quick read, but you have to see what we were able to snag. So let’s dive into some Disney shopping. I will rank them in an order of five to one and let you know where we purchased them from, so let’s get into it!
5.Haunted Mansion Wine Stoppers

Coming in at number five, we find ourselves in Liberty Square. The little shop outside the Haunted Mansion is called Momento Mori. This is a dangerous shop for me since I love the Haunted Mansion, but we had a budget in mind on what we wanted to spend. After walking through the store about 50 times we finally came to a conclusion. Everyone needs wine stoppers. Well maybe not, depends on the person I suppose, but we decided to get some wine stoppers. They are of the Hitch-Hiking Ghosts and the perfect way to bring Disney home to the bar!
4.Game of Life

Coming in at number four, this purchase will help with family game nights! This one was found in Epcot at the entrance of the World Showcase in the Port of Entry shop. We sort of stumbled on this one but it is the Game of Life, Disney Edition! Abby and I love to play board games with our family so this was sort of an impulse buy that we know we will get the use from. I mean Disney board game night will be fun for many years in a classic game. We have played the game a couple of times now and it is just as fun as the classic board game with a Disney twist.
3.Mickey Ears

Number three is just a timeless classic. I mean how can this one not be on the list. Walking down Main Street, USA in Mickey Ears is such a bucket list item. Abby and I both got some Mickey Ears for the occasion. We purchased them on Main Street at the Emporium. This is the big gift shop in Magic Kingdom and they had both of the Mickey Ears we were looking for. I had some Sorcerer Mickey Ears and Abby had the Castle on the bow of her Minnie Ears. Enough said on that one if you ask me.
2.Rose and Crown Bar Mat

Number two on the list will have us escape into the magic, even from our home bar! This next souvenir was purchased in the United Kingdom Pavilion in Epcot. This is a fun shop because the culture and the country is all around you. Across the walkway from the Rose and Crown Pub is the gift shop called The Queen’s Table. This is where we found one of the items we knew we wanted. We sought out this shop to find the bar mat of the Rose and Crown Pub. This is a fun, subtle way to bring Disney home and escape into the magic. It will be on the bar for years to come!
1.DJ R3X

Coming in at number one, I joke about being my son. Well world, meet R3X (Rex). He is the droid who used to be on Star Tours but is now the droid that dawns the DJ booth at Oga’s Cantina. Rex is a remote control droid. He comes with a remote control and can move forward, backward, spin around, move his head up and down, and swing his arms. But that is not all, I did mention he is a DJ. This droid is also a bluetooth speaker! That is right, Rex plays music via bluetooth and can talk phrases during them to add to the fun! This is my number one souvenir for good reason…I AM A STAR WARS NERD. This was bought in the Droid Depot in Galaxy’s Edge.
That does it folks, these were my favorite buys from our recent trip. It is hard to rank them but if you ask me, this is a list of favorites. All are super fun ways to bring Disney home to extend your trip. All have stories and memories associated with them and add to my Disney life. What do you like to shop for on trips? Let us know in the comments below what your favorite souvenirs are! In the meantime, until next week, continue to escape into the magic, no matter how far!
