Hello readers and welcome back to Muting and The Mouse. We are going to continue to escape into the magic of Disney food. Honestly, this is turning into what I think you should try eating at Disney. But let me be honest, that is a focal point of a Disney vacation. Well, any vacation at that. I mean Jim Gaffigan said it best, “why don’t we eat something, then go get something to eat”. We were at Disney during the Food and Wine Festival once again. This is one of my favorite times to visit because the booths are all so good and there are so many of them. They offer a great variety and smaller portions to split and try together. A pro tip that I have for you is to split everything. Abby and I split all of the portions and then that way we are able to try so many more things. There are fun things you can do at the festival and this blog post covers one of them. So without further rambling on, lets dive into this post!
We were able to enjoy the Emile’s Fromage Montage around the Food and Wine Festival. The Food and Wine Festival takes place at Epcot around the World Showcase and is always a hit. They have different scavenger hunts and offerings and this so happens to be one of them. So, what is Emile’s Fromage Montage? Well, that is spelled out in the Festival Passport. It states “Join Remy’s brother Emile on a stroll around EPCOT and indulge in a variety of delicious cheeses, served in inventive ways.” Well, you had me at cheese. This is a basically a cheese crawl around the festival. All you have to do is purchase the five menu items spelled out on the page, get a stamp, and enjoy! Once you have received all five stamps, you can bring the passport to the check in and redeem a prize for completing the crawl. The menu items you need to purchase were spelled out in the back of the passport and we will cover them below.

1. Griddled Cheese from Greece

This was stop number one on the crawl and it did not disappoint. The griddled cheese was topped with Pistachios and Honey to give it a nice salty and then sweet flavor. This is the new craze it seems that hit this past summer. I know a lot of people were trying the grilling cheeses and this mimicked that. The cheese was nice and warm and the paring was top notch. I would for sure get this again.
2. Schinkennudeln from Germany

Number two on the crawl was the Schinkennudeln. This is basically a baked mac and cheese amped up. The passport describes it as pasta gratin with ham, onions, and cheese. This was so cheesy and the ham added a nice salty flavor that cut through the rich and heavy cheesy pasta. This never lets us down as it is a returning item and we always enjoy it. Give this one a try in the future.
3. Crispy Barbecue Pork Rinds from The Swanky Saucy Swine

Number three is a new menu item this year and it had me perplexed. Based on what it is called I said “where’s the cheese”? But it was paired with a dip and that is where the cheese entered the dish. The Crispy Barbecue Pork Rinds were served with a creamy Pimento Cheese. This was not our favorite. The pork rinds were actually not bad but the pimento cheese was not what I was expecting. Overall, I enjoyed it and would give it another try. Something to note with dishes at the festival is they can be different from time to time.
4. Passion Fruit Cheesecake from Hawaii

Our fourth spot on the crawl led us to satisfy our sweet tooth. The Passion Fruit Cheesecake was topped with toasted macadamia nuts and was surprisingly light and fresh. The cheescake had a great flavor and it was a nice change of pace from all of the heavy cheese we had eaten so far during the day. The fresh flavors were the star here and I would highly recommend it for a nice light dessert.
5. Corned Beef Corner Route from Flavors of Fire

The Corned Beef Corner Route is a returning menu item. This one is a must have for Abby and I as we have had it many times and it is always good. It consists of corned beef with crispy potato chips, cheese curds, pickled onions, and a beer-cheese fondue. This is a cheesy, salty, crunchy goodness I wish I had in my life before 3 years ago. If you are looking for a bar food snack at the park, this is it during Food and Wine Festival!
Well there you have it! We had completed all five stops on the food crawl, now it was time to head over to collect our prize. This is the best part of the crawl because you get free a prize for completing the crawl. We followed the directions in the book and made our way to Shimmering Sips to collect our prize. The prize was another treat!
6. Strawberry Cheesecake Soft Serve inside of a collector cup!
Our prize was another dessert! The dessert was a strawberry cheesecake soft serve topped with cheesecake pieces inside of a souvenir cup to take home. The soft serve was so creamy and the flavors went so well together. It was refreshing, it was cheesecake forward with the fresh strawberry flavor throughout. It was a nice way to end the crawl and we have the cup at home to remember it by forever!
This overall was a really nice way to have lunch at Epcot. Abby and I split each item and by the end of it we were full. Coming in at just around $24 we were able to successfully eat lunch and try many things we wanted to have at the festival. We even got a bonus dessert and a take home cup. I think the value is there and we will do it again in the future if it returns! Now, I do want to note, you can get these items individually and do not have to do the crawl. But you do have to do all five to get the prize. Have you ever done a food crawl at Epcot Food and Wine? Did you do this year’s? Let us know in the comments below! Until next time, remember to escape into the magic, no matter how far!

The prize cup is adorable! I love when the prize for completing a crawl or scavenger hunt is something more than just food. Don’t get me wrong, the food is great, but it’s great to have an actual keepsake too! The Corned Beef Corner Route is one that I have wanted to try for awhile but I always seem to be full by the time I get to that booth! It reminds me of a play on poutine.
